Giveaway Day!

Chanukah like many holidays features delicious foods. Hot latkes (potato pancakes) topped with sour cream and applesauce come to mind. This year to add to my holiday collection of items I decided to make a set of potholders using some of my Chanukah fabric stash. For Giveaway Day 2009 I am offering the two potholders pictured here. The first is a pincher made using a keykalou.etsy.com pattern and the second is my own square design and measures 7 inches across. Both potholders have a layer of batting and insul bright and loop for hanging.

I’d like to know what handmade items you’ve made to decorate home for the holidays? Leave your comments here between December 2, 2009 and December 6, 2009 at noon. I’ll use the random number generator to pick and winner and mail the potholders out on Monday the 7th. I do ship internationally. So please share you traditions and ideas.

It is my first year quilting and I am seeing me and my boys snuggled under it on Christmas day, with a roaring fire and a few chocolates to keep us company :-) Thanks for the chance to win your lovely potholders and have a great Chanukah.

  36. Hi! I made a nice centerpiece [wooden bowl filled with hickory nuts that I harvested, and a candle centered in the middle], and now it's got me inspired. I love filling the house with candles this time of year: a)Chanukah! b)I went to Norway 3 years ago, and every shop & home had candles in the window. It reminded me that you are supposed to keep your menorah in your window, and suddenly it made so much sense: it's very cheery & lifts the spirits when it's so cold & dreary outside.
Would love to win the potholders!
